Released in 2021 by PictorCircus, Girl Life is a life simulation game that follows Lisa as she transfers to a new school, a place where major twists await in the life of a seemingly ordinary Japanese high school girl.

Meticulously Designed Game Modes

Girl Life features two game modes that closely mimic real-life experiences. After moving to a new environment with her family, Lisa has two main goals: get used to it and explore it. That’s why, in the first half of the game, your job is to help Lisa quickly adjust to her new school, teachers, and classmates.

The school is where you’ll meet supporting characters like the twin sisters Akane and Kana, with their signature long blue and pink hair tied in oversized bows. You’ll also encounter Kiaya and Tomaru, two kind boys who’ll help you a lot in the infirmary and the gym storage room.

Treasure every moment with these friends, because once you finish the Story Mode, you won’t be able to go back.

In the second mode, Explore, Lisa is free to move between locations like school, home, the park, her part-time job, and the karaoke bar. Each new place is full of events that you absolutely won’t see coming.

Here, the game introduces new mechanics like dating, chatting with strangers (random NPCs), and a character stats system. But perhaps the most noteworthy feature of this mode is the ability to earn money through part-time jobs, known in Japan as baito.

You work, and you get paid. You can spend the money however you like, there’s no fixed pattern. Fifty different outfits? Sounds tempting. Jewelry, cosmetics, or gifts for your relationships? Also, not a bad choice.

Every action in the game directly affects Lisa’s stats and leads to different endings. Choose the version of Lisa you want to become,  and enjoy that path!

A Rich Location System

With over 100 scenes across various locations that change randomly depending on who Lisa is interacting with, Girl Life is one of the few pixel-style SLG mobile games to achieve this level of diversity.

Expansive Updates

Inspired by life simulation classics like The Sims and Animal Crossing, Girl Life also offers special expansion versions (DLCs) for players who support the developer through Patreon.

These updates usually include scenes, characters, and many new items designed based on player requests. Starting at just $5, you can leave your own mark in Girl Life, isn’t that wonderful?

Language Diversity

Although set in a Japanese school with Japanese voice acting, Girl Life doesn’t limit its audience to Japan. The game currently supports two main languages: Japanese and English, along with many fan-made language packs like Vietnamese, Spanish, Indonesian, and Chinese.

• Wear headphones while playing: It would be a waste if the seiyuu brought the characters to life and no one heard them.
• Look for hidden scenes: The Explore mode allows interactions with NPCs, so take some time to search for hidden events around the park, supermarket, and back alley.
• Replay the game multiple times: The game has many different endings depending on how you shape Lisa’s path, so make sure to replay it to discover every possible happy ending.

Conclusion
